Embrace

As an illustrator, a lake of blossoming sacred lotus (nelumbo nucifera) flowers feeds not only the mind, but heart and soul. Leaves, swaying gently to the whispers of the wind. Petals permeating the essence of all that Is. A moment to wonder. Opening the many minds and hearts to experience the interpretation of their own. Each to their own unique experience. It may be a precious moment of healing; a gateway to remember what it feels like to just be at peace (without all the worries of the world); a manifestation of happiness; or just a moment of stillness. Nothing to do, only to breathe and experience. This is the gift that we all have, at any given moment, before a lake of blossoming flowers or before the reflection of our own, in the mirrors of life.

Title: Embrace; Medium: Pencils on vellum; Size: 29 x 42 cm. Specimen: Nelumbo nucifera at the Royal Botanics Garden Sydney, Australia.
